It was a day for the veterans at the NHRA Mac Tools Gatornationals in Gainesville, Florida this weekend. While seasoned drivers Larry Dixon, Tony Pedregon, and Darrell Alderman were taking a chomp out of the competition in Gatorville, GoFDR veteran Mike English scored 629 points in route to a victorious meal of his own.

GoFDR regular Eric Gowdy trailed English by only only eight points to score second place while Bob Campbell, Bryan Clinton and John Walker rounded out the top-five competitors this week.

GoFantasyDragRacing would like to congratulate Mike English on his first win in two years of playing our game consistently. Mike's name might seem familiar to some of our players. If so, it's probably because you've heard Mike's voice as an announcer at some of the Southwest's biggest Drag Racing events!

Mike used his vast knowledge and experience in Drag Racing, in addition to a clever "two-team" strategic move, to win this race. First, he chose a team early in the week, scoring the Pre-qualifying fifty-point bonus and netting himself a 7th place finish ($25.00) with those selections. Then he won an additional $300.00 with a second, post-qualifying team where he chose three out of the four class winners at this weekend's NHRA races in Florida.

In fact, multiple-team players dominated at the races this week. Some hardcore players even opted to choose as many as five different teams! While it is certainly not necessary to choose multiple teams, we still have fewer than 100 teams selected per race. With the top-25 finishers at least breaking even, that means the odds are still stacked in a player's favor.

We would also like to congratulate the three new players for 2002 who placed in the top-10 this week: Bob Campbell, Juston Peloquin and Tony Love. Good job guys, we like to see fresh faces winning money here at GoFantasyDragRacing.com!
