GoFDR team owner Allen Smith takes Route 66 Nationals
October 1st, 2001
While several NHRA drivers were setting new speed records in the cool air of Southern Illinois, a new name broke into the winner's circle here at GoFantasyDragRacing.com. Enter, Allen Smith of Cleveland, Ohio.
Smith's team choices were remarkable as he chose Whit Bazemore, Kurt Johnson, and Mike Coughlin, all of whom broke national speed records. That gave Smith an additional 60 bonus points for this week! He also showed great prowess in choosing all four class winners, bringing his total GoFDR score to 708 points.
The competition was very tight again this week, with Smith and second-place GoFDR player, Joe Wingate, separated by only two points. John Walker came in third place with 678 points while John Ward and Jim Green rounded out the top-five.
GoFantasyDragRacing.com will be taking next weekend's rescheduled Keystone Nationals in Reading, Pennsylvania off for some back-end maintenance on the website. The adjustments will be minor, something that GoFDR players probably won't even notice. We will resume racing at the O'Reilly Fall Nationals in Dallas, Texas on October 18-21.
Watch for new driver values to be assigned at Dallas. Those changes will be in effect until the end of the season. We hope you will come back and join us then, and don't forget to bring some friends!
