Rule Book
How our race is run
The GoFDR Championship is a 10 race series run in conjunction with 10 races on the NHRA circuit (see schedule for details). Team owners will compete by selecting a team of 8 drivers for each of these races. The object is to score the most points. Points will be calculated at the end of each race. During the 10 race series, your two lowest scores will be dropped. At the end of the series the owner who scores the most points wins.
For each of the ten races you will select a team of 8 drivers from our GoFDR drivers section. The drivers all have different $ values.
As a team owner, you have a fantasy budget of $8,000,000. You may draft your drivers in any combination from any NHRA professional class: Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Bike. Driver values will change a couple of times during our series. You must always stay within your $8,000,000 budget.
Trades
You are never stuck with any driver you have chosen. From race to race you may keep your same team or trade as many drivers as you like (You may trade all 8 if you want) as long as you stay within the $8,000,000 budget. If you don't choose a new team, your old team will roll-over into the next race plus you will claim the 50 point PreQualifying Selection Bonus (see "How to score points" below). You can trade drivers as many times as you like. Each time you select a team you will be issued a confirmation number. If you change your mind you can pick a new team and you will recieve a new confirmation number. The LAST team you pick before eliminations WILL be your team.
Example: If you choose a team on Tuesday (to claim the PreQualifying Bonus) and then decide to pick a new team on Saturday night, the team from Tuesday and the corresponding confirmation number will be voided. Always print your Team Selection when you recieve your confirmation number (the site doesn't report this info when you log in).
Several times during the race season the driver values will change. Your budget will remain at $8,000,000. If your existing team exceeds this budget, you MUST select a new team. You will be notified via email well in advance when the driver values change. Any Team Owner who doesn't submit a new team within the budget will lose the points earned by their lowest $ valued driver that would put them back within the $8,000,000 budget. (Please, don't let this happen to you!)
How to score points
You score points just as your driver does in real competition.
- Winner: 100 pts
Runner Up: 80 pts
Losing Semifinalists: 60 pts
2nd Round Loser: 40 pts
1st Round Loser: 20 pts
- All drivers get 10 points for entering the race. One qualifying pass is required.
- Any driver who establishes an official E/T (elapsed time) National Record gets 20 points.
- Drivers who qualify earn points for the position in which they qualify:
1st: 8 pts
2nd: 7 pts
3rd: 6 pts
4th: 5 pts
5th-6th: 4 pts
7th-8th: 3 pts
9th-12th: 2 pts
13th-16th: 1 pt
- Add the points earned by all 8 of your drivers and that will be your score.
We deviate from the actual scoring only in these ways:
- We do not deduct points for oildowns.
- The GoFDR PreQualifying Selection Bonus: There will be a 50 POINT bonus given to all Team Owners that make their team selections before the first round of Professional Qualifying begins. This bonus is automatically given to any Team Owner who doesn't choose a new team for their next race. This allows players who don't have time to study qualifying and maintain their team every week to still have an opportunity to win.
In the event of a tie:
Individual Races: The qualifying position 1 through 16 of each of your 8 drivers will be added together. Any driver who didn't qualify will be counted as 16th. The team owner whose team adds up to the highest number wins the tie breaker. This means the team least likely to win based on qualifying will win in the event of a tie. If this does not settle the tie, the team owner who submits his team 1st wins the tie.
Championship Series: Compare the scores of the tied competitors at the last individual race. The player who scored the most points at that race wins the tiebreaker. The tiebreaker goes back as many races as necessary to break the tie.
Deadlines for team selection:
In order to claim the 50 point pre-qualifying bonus your team selection must be made one hour prior to the scheduled first round of professional qualifying.
The FINAL deadline for team selection is one hour prior to the sceduled start of the first round of professional eliminations.
Refer to the bulletin board for these times.
Results:
The race results will be posted no later than Wednesday following the race. Winners checks will be mailed within ten days of the conclusion of the race. Grand Prize checks will be mailed within ten days following the end of the Championship. Results may be available to Players Only. The winners names and the city they reside in will be announced. The team scores of the top 25 players for each individual race and the top 50 players in the Championship will be posted on the website after each race.
Multiple Team Players:
You may choose to run more than one race team. If you do, ALL your teams are seperate entities and will be scored independantly. You must log in and make your driver selections under each individual team name. It is YOUR responsibility to select the drivers you want for each individual race team. You cannot contact us after the race and claim that your highest scoring team of drivers was supposed to be registered to Team 3 instead of Team 1 (especially if Team 3 is in 1st place in the Championship standings). NO advantage will be given to players who choose multiple teams other than they have more chances to win based on having more than one team.
Rain outs:
In the unfortunate event of a rain delayed event, the deadlines for driver selection will remain at one hour prior to the scheduled start of professional eliminations. If the entire event is not finished by the Monday following the originally scheduled day of eliminations, we reserve the right to cancel our race. Refer to the Bulletin Board for the status of this decision. We will make every effort to run our event.
Errors:
If you discover that an error has been made, please contact us by email at RaceDirector@GoFantasyDragRacing.com . You have until the Friday following the event to report any errors.
